Organic Oats -Steel Cut kibbles- Unstabilized

Grown in New Zealand. Because these are not stabilized ( steamed) we recommend that they be put in the freezer or fridge.
These are great if you want to flake them everyday.
Steel-cut oats are whole grain groats (the inner portion of the oat kernel) which have been cut into pieces. They are commonly used in Scotland and Ireland to make porridge, whereas rolled oats are used in England, other English-speaking countries, and Scandinavia.

Oats are a true cereal grain; but compared to other true cereals, they have a higher protein and fat content. The oat seed or groat is contained within a hull which must be removed before the seed can be eaten. This makes oats difficult to process, since the oat husk is very adherent. When oats are dehulled, the bran and germ remain with the groat. This is what makes oats such an excellent source of B vitamins and minerals.
High in polyunsaturated fats it is a good source of long lasting energy.
Studies have confirmed oats ability to reduce the serum-cholesterol levels. Oat bran does not lower the cholesterol of people with normal levels, only of those with high levels.
